1. Data Protection at a Glance
General Notes
The following notes provide a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data includes all data with which you can be personally identified. Detailed information on the subject of data protection can be found in our privacy policy listed below.
Hosting, CDN, and Analytics
Hosting
This website is hosted on servers located in Germany. The hosting provider processes data (e.g., IP addresses) to provide the service on behalf of the site operator.
Content Delivery Network (Cloudflare)
We use Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) to deliver and secure this website. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and other connection data. Cloudflare acts as a data processor or is subject to contractual agreements regarding data processing. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in security and performance) or, where applicable, the fulfillment of a contract.
For more information on Cloudflare's privacy practices, please visit: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
Web Analytics (Plausible, self-hosted)
We use Plausible Analytics to analyze website usage. Plausible is self-hosted and operated in Germany. IP addresses are processed briefly (hashed) to generate anonymous statistics and are not stored permanently. No personal profiles are created.
Note regarding Fonts
On this website, fonts are provided locally from the server or via installed npm packages. There is no connection to external font providers (e.g., Google Fonts).
2. Cookies and Local Storage
We use no cookies (neither technically necessary cookies, nor tracking or analytics cookies).
We strictly use your browser's Local Storage only to save your preferred settings (e.g., language, dark mode). This is a technically necessary functionality to ensure the display of the website as requested by you.
3. Contact Form
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provided there (Name, Email Address, Message Text), will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions.
Legal basis: The processing of this data is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, provided your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Retention period: The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory retention periods – in particular retention periods under commercial or tax law – remain unaffected.
Data transfer: We will not pass on this data without your consent. Sending takes place via our own mail server (self-hosted).
4. Rights of the Data Subject
You have the right to access, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, and data portability. Furthermore, you can revoke your consent at any time. To exercise your rights, please contact us at the email address provided in the Legal Notice (Impressum).
5. Processing by External Services
Cloudflare
Cloudflare (CDN & Security), Cloudflare, Inc. (San Francisco, USA) acts as a data processor. The processing is based on our legitimate interest in a secure and fast website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Third-country transfer: Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). The EU Commission has determined that an adequate level of data protection exists for certified US companies.
Further information: Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Plausible Analytics (self-hosted)
Plausible is hosted on a server in Germany. Plausible collects only anonymous metrics and no personal data. Tracking back to individual persons is not possible ("Privacy by Design"). For further information, please refer to the Plausible Data Policy.
6. Note on Data Transfer to Third Countries
We host our services primarily in Germany/EU. Insofar as we use external service providers from third countries (such as Cloudflare, USA), we ensure that they are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or that other appropriate guarantees (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.
